Parking in Massa Marittima

Il Bell'Arco is located in the historic center of Massa Marittima. Like most most historic centers throughout Italy, many of our streets are zoned for pedestrians and registered resident cars only. These zones are identified by the following road sign.

The Truth about ZTL zones: Avoiding Tickets in Italy - GRAND ...

There are several parking lots (both free and paid) located within 2-10 minutes walk of Il Bell'Arco.

Here are links to the locations of several parking lots in order of my recommendation:

Option 1 : Piazza Dante Alighieri

This parking lot contains both a free section and a paid section. Free spaces are denoted in white, while blue spaces are for payment. If there is a space available in this free zone in front of the municipal building, take it!  If not, continue to the blue spaces and prepare to pay at a parking meter in the center of the lot.

Once you have parked, there is a pedestrian walking path (pictured) that leads straight up to historic center. Please don't try to walk along the busy road--the road has no shoulder for pedestrians and limited visibility.  At the top of the pedestrian path, you will use the staircase to the left to cross under the busy street and arrive at the base of Il Bell'Arco!  Walk through the medieval door to the city and our driveway is on the right immediately after the Cantina Moris.

Option 2: Ristorante Le Mura

This is a paid parking lot located outside of a pizzeria with a fabulous view of the countryside and out to sea! Just a 2 minute walk to Il Bell'Arco.  Don't forget to pay the meter!

Option 3: Curva del Vento

This is a free parking lot just outside the city walls with a 10 minute walk to Il Bell'Arco.
